For at least the last two weeks people across Warren County have been calling in to authorities reporting a wild boar, or a pig on the loose in a number of communities around Maineville.
People tried to trap the hog, lasso it, and in some cases charm it into surrender or submission.
Today Local 12's Rich Jaffe got to the bottom of the Warren County hog hysteria.

A dog lost for nearly six years was finally reunited with his owner at the Denver Dumb Friends League on Tuesday.
Rufus, an 8-year-old Alaskan Malamute mix, was scanned for a microchip when the dog was brought in the the animal shelter.
The person who brought Rufus in said the dog appeared to have been abandoned, according to a release from the Dumb Friends League.

A grand jury has indicted the caretaker of a Pleasant Garden kennel were 97 puppies were seized earlier this year on animal cruelty charges.
Robert Lee Landreth was indicted Monday on six counts of felony animal cruelty and five misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty in connection with the raid of Rush Kennel in Pleasant Garden in early April.
Sheila Marie Savage, 53, the owner of the kennel, was indicted on similar charges in early June.
The grand jury also returned another indictment against her this week regarding obtaining property by false pretense.

Staff at the Robeson County Animal Shelter euthanized more than 50 dogs Wednesday after two puppies tested positive for parvo.
Animal rights advocates are decrying the decision.
In an effort to prevent an outbreak at the shelter, Veterinary Director Curt Locklear recommended all dogs younger than 1 year old to be put down.

A desperate search for a dog that escaped during a crash on Interstate 80 in Paterson Sunday has ended after officials found the basset hound safe Thursday.
20-year-old crash victim, John Everhart of Bethesda, Md. was driving his SUV when police say it overturned on the highway.
Everhart had adopted the 40-pound dog named "Bodhi" about a year ago.
Everhart's family called Paterson Chief Animal Control Officer John De Cando on Tuesday to say the passenger who survived the crash said the dog had run away.

Party hosts who give alcohol to people below the legal drinking age will now face the threat of lawsuits after Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a bill into law Friday morning.
There was brief applause when the announcement was read from the dais at a national underage drinking conference taking place at the Anaheim Marriott.
In Sacramento, the bill was as popular as an anti-puppy kicking measure, garnering near unanimous support.

On Saturday, Aug. 28, from 2 to 7 p.m., Barker Street Gourmet Dog Bakery and Boutique will host the Bow Wow Bash with proceeds benefiting Friends of Montgomery County Texas Animal Shelter.
The fundraiser will boast a special appearance by Sonya Fitzpatrick, Animal Planet's the Pet Psychic.
Fitzpatrick will host a meet and greet, and will not be giving on-site readings.
